There is no denial that we are living in a world with growing awareness of environmental protection. Green technology is being embraced more and more within the tech industry. The mobile phone industry seems to be lagging behind the rest of the tech world in going green.
Sony Ericsson recently launched its attempt at green handsets. Its global marketing director said at the time: “It’s not about making normal phones green, it’s about making green phones normal.” In Europe, Vertu has launched a concept phone: Vertu Essence, an environment friendly concept model of Vertu for 2015.
EU legislation on the proper disposal and recycling of mobile phones and components is becoming more prominent and there is a rise in the collection of electrical waste.
But the step to green mobile industry is slow. both the phone manufacturer, consumer and mobile businesses need to get on board to work and reduce damage to the environment.

The Nokia N97 is probably Nokia’s most long awaited smartphone, attracting attention of many people. Now it come out, is it as our expectation?
N97 is full of Nokia design trait. Its avant-garde body design and smooth surface are classic. other device make N97 look more advanced. a hidden full Qwerty keyboard and 3.5 inch touch screen are perfect operation gear. Its music player is similar with 5800. But its OMAP chip and 369MHz ARM11 CPU make it run faster than 5800.there’s an impressive 32GB internal memory, in addition to a microSD card slot that will take cards up to 16GB. There’s also Wi-Fi, a 5-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens and autofocus, HSDPA for speedy web browsing, a 3.5mm headphone jack and an FM transmitter for streaming music.
However, the Nokia slide is leaps and bounds behind the HTC. The slide isn’t smooth at all. The struts aren’t metal, but plastic, leaving us wondering exactly how long the screen will stay attached to the keyboard and there isn’t the option to have the screen lay flat, making it hard to type without the aid of a flat surface.
Navigating round the Nokia N97 is somewhat of a chore and demonstrates that the Nokia S60 rel.5 interface hasn’t been thought out as well as it should have been. Scrolling isn’t as simple as on an HTC device or the iPhone. You have to use a scroll bar rather than the whole screen and that becomes fiddly. Also, buttons are used for different things in different menus so you’ll have to remember what does what where too.
It’s a little pity. Although N97 has many bright spot, there are some problem on it.
